Ann Cody Burton

Ann Cody Burton was born May 2, 1946, in Marshall, Texas and passed from this life on May 12, 2026, in Houston, Texas. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, R.W. and Daisy Marna Burton and her son, Heath Allen Evans.

Ann is survived by her children; Tracey Jerrice Evans, Cody Michael Evans and his wife, Rhonda, her grandchildren; Aaron Cody Evans and his wife, Victoria, and Alexandra Kaye Evans and her husband, Christian, her great-grandchildren; EJ, Owen and Eliot Evans. 

She maintained the Hilltop farm in Mt. Vernon carrying on a tradition from her father often hosting her children and grandchildren for periods of respite.

"Little Ann" was well loved by her large extended family as the eldest of "The Cousins". Ann served as a nurse for the better part of 30 years, was confident, fiercely independent, and always ready to help. She was never a proud woman and would have objected to us writing this whole thing. She will be missed and always loved.

 A celebration of life will be held at Macon Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, TX, on June 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
