Austin Tarver Sr

Austin Andrew Tarver Sr. went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2021 at his home in Lafayette, TX. He is survived by the love of his life Susan Tarver, which he married on November 15, 1975. There were many years of love between them. They had 3 children, Austin Tarver Jr. of Pittsburg, TX; Krissy Clifton and husband Kevin of Jefferson, TX; JJ Tarver and wife Moe of Pittsburg, TX; many beautiful grandchildren, Adrianna, Chasity (Rodney), Kevin Jr. (Caelee), Jody Jr., Christopher, Alexis, Bryce, Branson, Brystal, and Brilee; great grandchildren, Xander, Devan, Zaiden, Charolette, Kevin III, Candin and Dylan; 3 sisters, Eloise, Terry, and Sherry; brother, Jason, as well as many special brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, an abundance of cousins, friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father, Hollis Tarver and wife Paula; mother, Fannie Gail Shinn; brother, Chris Tarver; grandmother, Norman Campbell; father and mother in law, Robert and Myrna Reese.

Papaw was all around an amazing man. He was a truck driver, hard worker, great husband, amazing dad and the best Pawpaw. No matter what, he loved to make you laugh. He always had a story to tell, and loved to be doing something outside such as watching humming birds, working in the yard, or on the car. He also loved to go fishing, working in his garden, taking care of his farm animals and his little dog JoJo. He taught his children and grandchildren everything he could, and always reminding them of how much he loved them. If you asked him how he was feeling, he would always tell you with his fingers. He was a fun loving and wonderful person to be around. He was a wonderful friend to many.

Gone Fishin!

A visitation will held at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home on Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Services to follow at 1:00 PM with Calvin Henry officiating. Interment will follow at Lafayette Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are JJ Tarver, Austin Tarver Jr., Kevin Clifton, Rodney Mabrey, Jody Tarver Jr., Kevin Clifton Jr., Carl Taylor and Krystal Clifton. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Tarver, Branson Tarver and Raymond Mynar.
