Bettie Bain-Medford

Bettie Alice Bain Medford, age 69, of Pittsburg, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Pleasant Springs Nursing Home due to complications from kidney cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 3, 2013 at Old Union Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Oney, Pastor Gordon Nelms and Pastor Bobby Bradshaw Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery with Tommy Reynolds, Dan Madden, Josh Stegall, Bill Thompson, Lyle Griffin and Tracy Campbell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Clark, Harold Clark, Jim Clark and Jerry Thompson. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Curry-Welborn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Medford was born on March 2, 1944 in Dumas, TX, the daughter of John Thomas "Bill" Bain and Myrtle Ruth Dearman. She was a member of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church. Her greatest love was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, her family and her church. Her greatest joy was playing the piano for Old Union Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Winston Medford of Pittsburg; sons, Dale Medford and wife Teresa of Mount Pleasant and Darryl Medford and wife Shannon of Corsicana; grandchildren, Misty Dawn Newman of Mount Pleasant, J.D. Medford and wife Marlena of San Diego, CA, Taylor Leigh Clawsen of Carlsbad, NM; great grandchildren, Tristen Kain Newman, Karlee Breanne Newman, Ashton Dane Newman, all of Mount Pleasant and Lucia Raquel Medford of San Diego, CA; her mother, Ruth Bain of Amarillo; her sister, Peggy Bradshaw and husband Bobby of Amarillo and a brother, Billy Bain and wife Linda of Amarillo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Rodney Dale Medford.
Memorials may be made to the Old Union Building Fund.
