Cynthia A. Crump, “Cindie,” was a woman of strength, honesty, and an unbridled spirit; those who loved her knew that she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She began and ended her earthly journey in Mount Pleasant, Texas, born on January 8, 1954, and passed away on March 14, 2026.
Cindie grew up in Mesquite, Texas, before moving to Royse City, Texas. She graduated from Royse City High School in 1973. Shortly thereafter, she married her first husband and welcomed her eldest son. A few years later, she married again, had her youngest son, and spent many years building a life in Rowlett. Later in life, she returned to her birthplace to care for her mother and great-aunt, a testament to her loyalty and deep sense of family.
Cindie lived a life shaped by many experiences, but in the last decade, she found joy in the simple things. She was a proud supporter of her youngest son’s music and loved watching him sing on stage. She cherished her time with her friends and with her boyfriend. She found peace on her back porch, where she welcomed the hummingbirds that visited her daily. Most recently, she was thrilled to learn that a fifth great-grandson was on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Delwin Speed; her great-aunt, Ailene Smith; and her beloved cat, Max.
Cindie is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Lynn “Bubba” and DeLisa Speed and daughters Heather; Lindsey and husband JP; Her sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Rex Richie, and daughter Nina; son Rex “Tater” Jr. and wife Melinda; Her eldest son and daughter-in-law, Cory and Keri Summers; Her youngest son and daughter-in-law, Brodie and Rebekah Crump.
Cindie “Meemaw” leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Josie and Colby Colwell and son, Knoxtyn; Rayleigh Crump and William Nichols and son, Alton; Jackson Summers; Travis Crump and Arianna Ladrini and sons, Atreus and Talon; Brandon Crump and Jersey Conner and son, Leeland; Brayden Crump; Morgan Crump; Karson Crump; and Hayes Crump.
Cindie’s life was full, vibrant, and deeply connected to the people she loved. Her strength, tenacity, and fierce loyalty will be remembered always.
