Daniel Lee Sitton

Mount Pleasant, Texas

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Daniel Lee Sitton (aka Gadget), age 64, of Mount Pleasant, TX on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Dan, formerly from Alexandria, Louisiana, was a resident of Mount Pleasant, TX for the past 25 years. Dan was many things, including a fisherman and a gearhead, but more importantly, a beloved member of his family and close circle of friends.

Dan never cared much of the ordinary road, or living life the way it was prescribed. He followed the tides and engines, worked where the water met the sky and knew the long days of a fisherman and the restless pull of the open road. There was salt in his stories, wind in his memories, and the sound of a motor engine carrying him on.

He lived an unconventional life, sometimes rough around the edges, sometimes difficult to understand, but always, entirely, his own person. And for all the miles that he traveled, he never forgot where he came from. Each February, he remembered our father, William Sitton, marking the day, keeping his place among the people who had gone before him.

Now he, too, has gone beyond our sight, past the shoreline, past the last familiar road. May there be open water before him, a clear stretch of highway, and those he loved waiting somewhere ahead. And may we remember him, not for whether his life followed a straight line, but because it was his, and because he was ours.

Dan is survived by his son, Tyler; his girlfriend, Jody, two sisters, Leah and Judith, his nephews Adrian and Paul, his nieces Melissa, Ischande and Catlyn, their spouses, and his grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
