Elizabeth Sue Feagins

The funeral service for Elizabeth Feagins will be at 2pm on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Curry-Welborn Funerals and Cremations. There will be a visitation one-hour prior to the service. The graveside will be held at Nevill’s Chapel Cemetery following the service.

Elizabeth “Libbye” Feagins passed away at her home surrounded by her family on June 1, 2023. Libbye was born on February 7, 1933, to Milton E. and Dessie Lee Godwin. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who took great joy in serving others. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Libbye was well known for her delicious plum jelly. She enjoyed games and was always up for a round of Flinch or Skip-Bo.

Libbye was a member of the South Jefferson Baptist Church where she faithfully served in the nursery for 30 plus years. Many, many children passed through her care in the nursery, and she loved them all.

Libbye was a devout Christian who fervently believed in the power of prayer. In many ways, Alzheimer’s took her from us a while ago. We are comforted by the knowledge that she is at peace.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph Feagins, her parents, Milton and Dessie Godwin, and her stepmother, Mary Godwin.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Clayton and husband Randy, son Mark Feagins, and her granddaughters, Shelby Clayton and Rachel Clayton.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
