Emma Massie

Emma Carolon Massie, age 82 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. She was born in Phoenix, AZ on May 7, 1938 to William Hammitt and Emma Ash Hammitt.

Carol and her husband loved playing Dominos every two weeks with her family. She was a member of Northridge Church of Christ and enjoyed volunteering with the church. She also was the Activity Director for Mt. Pleasant Nursing Home for many years.

She is survived by her daughter’s Brenda Thomas, Sharon Chapman and husband Dean, Rhonda Fletcher, as well as 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents; sisters, Rose, Goldie, Lola; brothers, William Hammitt, Allen, Hammitt; daughter, Loretta Clark; son, Larmond Darrell Massie Jr.; grandson, James Alford Holmes Jr.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 2:30 PM at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Nevill’s Chapel Cemetery.
