Funeral service for Evelyn Jeanne Beal, age 82, of Big Sandy, TX, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Curry-Welborn Chapel with Ken Treybig officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery with Garrett Flowers, Jacqueline Newman, Joshua Newman, William Bridges, Zachary Beal, and Trenton Ballowe serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 6, 2026, at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Ms. Beal passed away at home on April 1, 2026.

Evelyn Jeanne Beal was born December 13, 1943, in North Miami Beach, Florida to Douglas Allred and Glenda Martin. Ms. Beal was a voracious reader with a deep love for nonfiction and a passion for history. She was well known for her incredible cooking and baking, especially her mean Thanksgiving dinners that brought the family and friends together. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed working as a seamstress, creating with both skill and care. A devoted scholar of theology, she also earned recognition as a Certified Master Gardener and took pride in her expertise as an orchid specialist. She faithfully served her country in the United States Air force and was a dedicated member of the United Church of God Worldwide Association.

Ms. Beal is survived by her children; Teresa Newman and Alan Vollmering, Beau and Juliet Beal, Shannon Faith Flowers and Lindley Ballowe. Her grandchildren; Jacqueline Newman, Joshua Newman, Joannah Cowart, Jeremiah Henley, Zachary Beal, Amanda Beal, Yvette Beal, Brooke Flowers, Morgan Flowers, Garrett Flowers, Mykayla Fontaine, and Trenton Ballowe. Her great grandchildren; Seraphin Newman, Scarlette Applegate, David Cowart, Kyle Cowart, Savannah Beal, Connor Beal, Adalaide Strange, Evelyn Ballowe, Saylah Ballowe.
