Glenda Faye Swafford, age 83, passed away at her home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on June 6, 2022.
Glenda spent most of her working years as a “Nanny” to many children in the community including several of her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to travel and spend time with family. She was a great cook. She was most known in the community for her famous blue-ribbon chicken stew.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Swafford; son, Baney Barnwell, Jr.; daughter, Teresa Barnwell; son, Donnie Barnwell; daughter, Terri Rozell and husband Tommy; daughter, Carol Bishop and husband Mark; stepson, Steve Swafford and wife Roxanne; and stepdaughter, Dori Smith and husband Vell. She is also survived her sister, Arleata Urick and husband Jerry; sister, Dianne Forrest and husband Rex (deceased); her brother, Billy Johnson; grandchildren, Jeremy Barnwell, JJ Barnwell, BJ Kraner, Chris Kraner, Haily Bishop, Adam Smith, Tera Rozell, Maci Swafford and Ridge Swafford; five great-grandsons, three great granddaughters, three nephews and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Ethyel Johnson and two grandchildren: Josh Barnwell and Corey Bishop. As well as her beloved dog, Pepper Jack.
