Jack Morris Mobley Jr. of Mount Pleasant passed away February 9, 2021 at the age of 63.
Known as Jack by most, Coach by many, and Pops by family; he was born in New Boston, TX on January 4 1958 and lived his entire life in Northeast Texas. He retired from SWEPCO’s Welch Power Plant in 2020 where he spent over 40 years as a Boilermaker and Machinist.
Coach Mobley spent many years teaching the youth of Mount Pleasant a variety of sports. Throughout the years you could find him refereeing soccer games from the youth level up to High School and coaching soccer, baseball, softball, and track.
Pops enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and you could always find him in the stands cheering them on in their various activities including football, basketball, baseball and band.
Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Nina Taylor of Mount Pleasant. He is survived by his siblings Rodney Mobley of Mount Pleasant, TX and Lisa and Cory Griffith of Los Lunas, NM; sons, Corey and Alison Mobley of Mount Pleasant, TX; Cole and Kaysee Mobley of De Kalb, TX; Casey and Sarah Mobley of Greenwood, IN; and grandkids Brendyn, Brayden, Grayson, Cade, Kayda, Addy, Liam, Ceris, Myla, Abram, Calan, Circenn ,and Jace.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Services will be on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with Bro. Tommy Oglesby officiating.
