James Bryan Kirkland

James Bryan Kirkland a long-term resident of Mt. Pleasant, Texas passed away on June 27, 2022.  Born in Borger, Texas on July 12, 1947, he married the love of his life, Linda Phillips, on May 24, 1968, while enlisted in the US Army.  An avid outdoorsman, he was known locally as the “Bee Man.”  

James was preceded in death by his parents, William Jefferson Kirkland and Fawnie Marie Nash Kirkland.  Survivors include his wife Linda, daughter Tonja King, son and daughter-in-law, Ty and Dee Kirkland, bonus children Brent and Shebby Doddy, grandchildren Trent Doddy, Tayte Doddy, Zaydin Doddy, Camden Doddy and Tristan Kirkland, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Rogenna Kirkland, and brother and sister-in-law David and Lori Kirkland, nieces and nephews, Colby Kirkland, Christy Conelly, Aaron Kirkland, Scott Kirkland, and amazing great nieces and a handsome great nephew. 

James has served as a long-standing, faithful member of the Northridge Church of Christ and was passionate about missionary service.  As a last act of service, James desired to fund a water well in Africa.  Please consider donating to Northridge Church of Christ to help fund this mission in lieu of sending flowers.  Donations can be made directly to the church with a note in the Memo:  Africa Water Well.
