Jimmy Ray Franklin

September 4, 1955 — April 25, 2026

Mount Pleasant, Texas

Jimmy Franklin was born September 4, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas passed from this life on April 25, 2026 in Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles (Cecil) Franklin and Louise Culver-Franklin and his brother, Charles (Charlie) Franklin.

Jimmy leaves behind a family who inherited his humor, his stubbornness, and his ability to turn ordinary moments into memorable ones; Beth Briscoe and her husband, Nathan, Cassie Foster and her husband, Wesley, Robert Franklin and his wife, Amy, Cody Henry and his wife, Meri- will continue to share his stories, repeat his jokes and probably fight over who acts the most like him. We can’t leave out his best friend and “Pretty Lady,” Barbara Reese.

His grandchildren; Cameron and Ace Foster, Hunter Briscoe and his wife, Estefany, and Kaylee Henry- were a constant source of pride and entertainment. Add in four great-grandchildren and Jimmy made sure his legacy would stay loud, lively and just a little bit mischievous for generations to come. He also leaves behind numerous cousins and friends.

Jimmy lived life on his own terms, loved his family deeply, and left behind more laughs than anyone can count. While he may be gone, his voice, his humor, and his unforgettable one-liners will live on- usually at the most unexpected times.

He will be missed, remembered and quoted often.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
