Jo Chamness

Jo Marie Chamness, age 52, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday August 12, 2012 in Tyler. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 16, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the South Jefferson Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Oglesby officiating interment will follow at the Bridges Chapel Cemetery with Billy Chamness, Raymond (Red) Chamness, Christian Chamness, Tommy James, Ricky Smith and Hayes Lesher serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Devine, Marvis Aulds, Ethan Aulds and Jake Aulds. Visitation will be held Wednesday August 15, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Curry- Welborn Funeral Home.
Jo Marie was born on September 14, 1959 in Monroe Louisiana, to Dillard and Blanche Aulds Rice. She Married Ricky Chamness on March 20, 1976 and was employed at the Mt. Pleasant Jr. High as a Teacher's Aide.
She is survived by her husband Ricky Chamness of Mt. Pleasant, two sons; Billy Chamness and wife Amber of Mt. Vernon and Raymond (Red) Chamness and wife Marcie of Mt. Vernon, four grandchildren; Christian and Chloe Chamness, Eli and Landon Buchanon, and little John Hollis Chamness on the way. She is also survived by three brothers; David Rice, Kent Rice, and Dan Rice of West Monroe LA, and two sisters; Joyce Brown of Jacksonville Ohio, and Linda Aulds of Beaumont TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dillard and Blanche Rice, two brothers; Dillard (Jr.) Rice, and Paul Rice and a sister Faye Smith.
