Johan Turpin

Johan YeVonne Turpin, age 77, of MT. Pleasant, passed away on Monday August 7, 2017 in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Nevill's Chapel Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Nevill's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Johan was born to Wilson and Ernestine Poole Russell on October 3, 1939 in Junction, TX. She married her true love Billy Turpin on September 4, 1959 in LaPorte, TX, she was a homemaker and a pastor's wife which she enjoyed very much. She is survived by her loving husband Billy Turpin of Mt. Pleasant, her daughters; Tamria Hill and husband Tim of Mt.Pleasant, Pamula McKee and husband Darren of Mt. Pleasant, Karon Mars and husband Brent of Mt. Pleasant, and Billie Catherine "Cathye" Cogdill and husband Kennie of Grandbury, grandchildren; Amber LaNae Dicken and husband Zach of Lubbock, Kinsee Nicole and husband Jeff of Mt. Pleasant, Callie Jo Thompson and husband JC of Port Arthur, John Brent Mars Jr. of Dallas, Jason Ray Hill and wife Ashley of Mt. Pleasant, Shelby Lynn Mars of Dallas, Catherine Denise Cogdill of Grandbury, and Allie YeVonne Cogdill of Grandbury, great-grandchildren; Avy Thomas, Brody Thomas, Josie Thomas, Ree Thomas, coming soon Robert Wayne Thompson, and Karsyn Ray Hill, sister Mada Hambrick and husband Aaron of Conroe, sister-in-law's; Faye Roachell of Ft. Smith, AR, Ethel Moore of Pasadena, Kathy Moore of Bradford, AR, Linda Humphries of Phoenix, AZ, Libby Moore and husband Melvin of Bradford, AR, brother-in-law Jimmy Turpin and wife Sue of Pasadena, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wilson and Earnestine Poole Russell, sister Wilsa Rose Russell, and brother John Lynn Russell.
