Funeral services for Joy LaVern Herrin, age 89, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at New Beginning Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM prior to service.
Joy LaVern Herrin “Mimi” left us for her heavenly home on November 16, 2025. She was 89 years old. Joy was born on July 13, 1936, in Dallas, Texas, to Ethel Lee Estes and Lloyd Odom.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia, and her brother, Paul Butcher. She is also survived by her children: Bobby Herrin, Phyllis Baldwin, and Pam Massie and her husband Brian.
Mimi leaves behind a loving family of grandchildren: Bobby Clay and his wife Roxanne, Cheryl Clay, Kathy Herrin, Billy Pruitt, Regina Herrin, Michael Smith and his wife Becky, Tawny Williams and her husband Barry, Davie Dennington, Micheal Dennington, Kristi Maker and her husband Mario, and Bobby Herrin Jr.
She was blessed with many great-grandchildren: Bradley English, Caden Clay, Allison Clay, Harley Herrin, Iris Herrin, Alex Clay, McKenzie Pruitt, Vada Herrin, Zoe Herrin, Leo Maker, Dylan Maker and his wife Tara, and Kelsie Pruitt, as well as numerous great-great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Mimi is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ross Herrin; her sister, Bobbie J. Swiney; her parents; her daughter, Darlene Anne Herrin; her great grandson, Riley Porter, her granddaughters; Margie Bragg, and Robin Dennington.
Mimi will be remembered for her deep love of family, her quiet strength, and the warm, gentle spirit she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
