Kenneth Boyd, Jr.

Kenneth Delbert Boyd Jr., 65, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at his residence. Graveside service will be Thursday, September 25, 2014 at DeShield Cemetery with Pastor Dominic Crescimanno officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Curry-Welborn Funeral Home.

Kenneth was born June 30, 1949 in Deport, Texas to Kenneth Delbert Boyd Sr. and Virginia Ruth Blalock Boyd. He married Linda McCright on March 19, 1968 in Mt. Pleasant. Kenneth worked for Center Point Energy and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Linda Boyd of Mt. Pleasant; sons Daryl and Deedy Boyd of Mt. Pleasant and Kenneth Charles Boyd of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Joshua Boyd, Jordan Boyd, Kristina Boyd, Kathrine Boyd, Kimberly Boyd, Kandyce Boyd and Krystal Boyd all from Mt. Pleasant; great grandchild William DuBose of Mt. Pleasant; sisters Janie Johnson of Mt. Pleasant and Nancy Boyd of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Boyd Sr.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
