L. Ward

L. D. Ward, age 88, of Mount Pleasant passed away Sunday July 15, 2012 at the Titus Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday July 18, 2012 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home with Bro. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Macon Cemetery with Johnny Webster, Rod Calhoun, Roy Parker, Eddie Perritt, Bradley Dunn, Mark Feagins and Lavell Jones serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Mickey Jeff and Bill Belcher. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday July 17, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral services are under the direction of Curry-Welborn Funeral Home.
Mr. Ward was born March 10, 1924 in Franklin County, TX, the son of Lorenzo Dow Ward and Birdie Lilly. He was a member of Cypress Baptist Church and served in the United States Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ward of Mount Pleasant; three sons, Richard Ward of Monroe, LA, Michael Langford and wife Polly of Greenville and Larry Ward and wife Debbie of Bullverde; three daughters, Lori Roberts and husband Garry of Mount Pleasant, Lisa Easter and husband David of Mount Pleasant and Amy Fennell and husband Rex of Longview; 16 grandchildren, Lucas Ward, Breanne Bunnell, Christopher Ward, Kelly Ward, Miranda Wooldridge, Michelle Hudgeons, Bradley Dunn, Kaley Lockaby, Annah Roberts, Colby Parker, Hannah Parker, Gracie Easter, Sarah Easter, Matt Bryson, Christian Fennell and Caleb Fennell and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald B. Ward.
