Funeral service for Lawrence “Larry” Steven Cotten, age 77, of Mount Pleasant, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mount Pleasant. Interment will follow at Bridges Chapel Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Mr. Cotten passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in Tyler, Texas.

Larry was born on January 1, 1948, to Dan Moody Cotten and Mary Kathryn (Davis) Cotten at St. Paul Hospital in Houston, Harris County, Texas. He married his beloved wife, Carolyn (Everett) Cotten on November 7, 1998, in Dallas, Texas. Larry worked 42 years in the Information Technology industry. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since June 20, 1988. He served in The Dallas Texas Temple and in several callings within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as within his community. Larry spent heartfelt time and dedication volunteering at Titus County Cares Food Pantry since 2016.

Larry is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Cotten, daughters; Kristina L. (Andy) Newman and Amanda C (David) Galloway; sons, Michael S. Cotten, Ryan A. (Krissy) Cotten, and Rex A. (Ashley) Cotten; step-daughters; Ranae (Clint) Pincock and Arla (Benny) Jarvis; and step-son Lance (Collette) Sweeney; as well as 36 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; his sister, Lisa (Rick) Graham; his brother, Danny (Carla) Cotten, and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Jerri Dean (Cross) Cotten, and his parents, Mary K. (Davis) Cotten and Dan M. Cotten.

In the spirit of honoring Larry's cherished life, the family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, friends and loved ones consider making heartfelt contributions to the Titus County Cares Food Pantry. This meaningful gesture reflects the generous spirit that defined his legacy and serves to support those in need within the community he held dear as he did in life.
