Mount Pleasant

Requiem Mass for Leon De La Rosa, age 59, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 5:00-7:00pm at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Mr. De La Rosa passed away at his home on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Leon was born on April 19, 1967 to Felix De La Rosa and Socorro Garcia Finada in Villa De Arriaga, Mexico. He married his beloved wife, Celestina (Netro) De La Rosa in Mount Pleasant, Texas in 2007.

Leon worked for Pilgrims as a forklift driver and pallet jack operator.

He is survived by his wife, Celestina De La Rosa, and his children; Arnold De La Rosa, Saray De La Rosa, Maydee De La Rosa, Leonard De La Rosa, and Leonel De La Rosa.

He will be remembered as a hardworking, strong, and selfless man whose actions spoke louder than words. In his younger years, he was athletic and active, carrying that same determination throughout his life. He found joy in working with his hands, whether he was renovating a house, building beautiful projects from wood, or tending to his beloved plants.

He was a man who never asked for much, never complained, and was never picky. He faced life’s challenges with quiet strength and resilience, often carrying burdens without letting others see the weight he bore. Those who knew him admired his steady nature, his strong work ethic, and his willingness to always keep moving forward.

Above all, he will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the example he set through a life lived with humility, perseverance, and love for his family.
