Maria D Flores "Lori"

Maria D. Flores “Lori” age 64, resident of Mount Pleasant, TX, peacefully passed on August 5, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Maria was born in Beeville TX to Eugenia P. and Tomas Y. Gonzales.

 Maria was strong and kindhearted, she lived for her five children, always putting their needs and wellbeing first. That selflessness did not end at home. Maria dedicated a good portion of her life as a teacher’s assistant and later found her passion working with special needs children. Her other passion was being a children’s school bus driver. She loved seeing the smiling faces of “her kids” as she affectionately referred to them. In her last days she was so heartbroken she would not be getting to drive this year and continuing to greet the kids she loved. Maria’s strength and kindness lives on in her five children and the many kids she taught throughout her life.

Maria was preceded in death by her mother and father Eugenia P. and Tomas Y. Gonzales. Maria leaves behind her husband of 39 years Jose Luis Flores. Her children, Erica Castaneda, Myra Martinez (Alonzo), Maria Eugenia “Gennie” Acosta (Gabriel), Joshua Flores and Rachael “Rocky Road” Flores (Dakota). Additionally, her twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also leaving behind two brothers, Andres Saenz (Estella), Leandro “Sonny” Carabajal (Terry), and one sister Dora Rendon.
