Murl Baker

Murl Vern Wright Baker (Nannie); age, 90, passed away on May 30, 2018 in Mt. Pleasant, TX. She was born on February 4, 1928 to Monty Lee and Gracie Pearl Wright in Greenville, TX. She retired as head of the elementary cafeteria at Paul Pewitt School in Omaha, TX. Mrs. Baker was well-loved by all who knew her and loved every one. She was a very active member and Sunday school teacher for many years at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha. She married Rex Baker February 8, 1946 and together they had two children, Betty Ann Hinton and Gary Winfred Baker. She was currently a member of Cypress Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Hinton of Pittsburg, TX, her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy; Debbie Tasa and husband Holley, Tammy Foster and husband Kent, Jimmy Lee Smith and wife Juana, Kevin Baker and wife Jami, Kelly Baker and wife Tabatha all of Mt. Pleasant, TX; Jason Hinton of Carthage, Randy Hinton, Andy Hinton, Bobby Hinton, Robbie Hinton and Brenda Luna; she is also survived by 21 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, 3 great-great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-law’s, and special friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Rex Baker, son and daughter-in-law; Gary and Nelda Baker, son-in-law; Sam Hinton and granddaughter Tammy Ross, as well as her sisters, brothers and their spouses.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha, TX. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
