Murrell “Dempsey” Newman passed away at the age of 69 on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at his residence in Winnsboro, Texas.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie Brantley and husband Jon, Jamie Fritts, and Jill Watkins; brother Rick Newman; sisters, Yvonne Farrell, Pauline (Polly) Carper, Mary (Doll) Sweeney, and Eugenia Freeman; sister-in-law Amber Self Newman; grandchildren, Cody Brantley and wife Kristin, Colton Brantley, Corbin Brantley, Meagan Fritts, Blaine Northern, Alexxis Watkins, Rylee Watkins, Presley Kemph; six great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Opal (Wilhite) Newman; brothers, J.W. (Buddy) Newman and Hollis Newman; brother-in-laws, Ray Reynolds, Neal Carpers, and Marvin Farrell; and sister-in-law Deborah Skidmore Newman.
