Sarah VanWey

Sarah Lue Ada Walker VanWey, age 85, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at the Curry-Welborn Funeral Home with Buddy Morton officiating. Interment will follow at the Bridges Chapel Cemetery. Family visitation will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday April 18, 2013 prior to the service.
Mrs. VanWey was born on February 15, 1928 in Carthage TX, the daughter of Thomas and Eva Walker, she married Charles VanWey on February14, 1953. She was a retired LVN nurse and cared for many patients at the Titus County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. VanWey is survived by her daughters; Millie Black and husband Wayne of Mt. Pleasant TX, Mary Gest and husband Luke of Rockdale TX, Sharon King and husband Tommy of Idabel OK, and daughter in-law Diana Tafoya of Mt. Pleasant, and one son, Mike Tafoya and wife Mary Ruth of Hardinsburg KY. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas E. Walker and Eva Morton, her husband, Charles VanWey, her son Richard Tafoya, her grandson Tony Black, and a great granddaughter Maggie Schneider.
