Violet Benz

Violet Benz, age 103, of Mt. Pleasant, TX passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021.

Violet was born on April 11, 1918 in Iowa, to John and Delilah Matherly. She married Ray C. Benz on May 28, 1939 in Centerville, Iowa. For many years she served as a Minister’s wife.

Violet is survived by her daughter, Caroll Smith of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Son Norman Benz and wife Judy Benz of West Palm Beach, FL; son Larry Benz and wife Mary Benz of Punta Gorda, Florida,; Grandchildren; Suzanne and Jeff Prescott, Jack and Marsha Bretches, Guy and Linda Bretches, Diane and Philip Hoffman, Dawn Benz, Lanae and Tony Ballard, Jonathan Benz, Erik and Jeanne Benz; Great-grandchildren; Candice and Chad Marshall, Mandy and Tyler Hesker, Ellianna and Justin McCombs, Zac Bretches, RJ Greenhalge, Nathan Greenhalge,  Zoe Bretches, Colten and Sharon Cutler, Nathan and Jessica Ballard, Chad Ballard, Kristopher Benz, Kenan Benz, Kensington Benz; Great-great grandchildren; Ryder Marshall, Paislee Marshall, Lukas Marshall, Claire Hesker, Tobias Greenhalge, Malachi Greenhalge, Leah Greenhalge, Daniel Hesker, numerous nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by parents; John Wesley and Delilah Matherly, husband; Ray C. Benz, son in laws, Jack Bretches, Pete Smith and her siblings.
