Wilburn Watson

Dr. Wilburn Albert Watson age 74, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on August 16, 2017, in Mt. Pleasant. Wil was born on May 11, 1943 to Frank and Irene Cavanaugh Watson in Delta County. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 19, 2017 at 3P.M. at St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with a visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 2P.M. Wil served in the United States Air Force, had his PhD in education, and was also a Master Mason.

Wil is survived by his wife Nita Cobb Watson, children Jason Watson of Dallas, Lynnette Tabor of Mt. Pleasant, granddaughter Ashley Tabor of Mt. Pleasant, brother James Watson of Paris, sister-in-law Lynda Gibson and husband Jerry of Quitman, brother-in-law Howard Cobb of Quitman, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Irene Cavanaugh Watson, brother Bobby Watson, and son-in-law David Tabor.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in his memory to The Mt. Pleasant Masonic Lodge or St. Andrew's Methodist Church.
