Jimmie Craig

Jimmie Edgar Craig, age 74, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas passed away on March 25, 2021 at Titus Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 1, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Ottis E. Craig and Betty Sue Coke Craig.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Farmer's Academy Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM before the service at the graveside.

Jimmie was a painting contractor for over 46 years and served the Mount Pleasant Community. He enjoyed snacking on Blue Bell Ice Cream, fishing, and riding around with his son Matt and watching him work. He was also an avid weather watcher. Jimmie was known for being soft spoken and having a kind spirit.  Jimmie loved God and was a faithful servant to the Lord, and he enjoyed studying the Bible and witnessing to people being brought to Christ. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge Longview Chapter.

Jimmie is survived by his son Matt Craig and wife Jamie; daughter, Susan Craig Gage and husband Barry; daughter, Mechele Kapsner and husband Steve; sister, Gwen Esslinger and husband Mark; brother Donnie Craig and wife Angie; sister, Lisa Taylor; sister, Angela Al Dusari  sister-in-law, Tina Jones; grandchildren; Hannah and Connor Gage, Taylor Craig, Darah Rolf, Brad and Brent Dove; great- grandchildren Slade, Ella, and Jayden; niece, Kandi Kraner, nephews, Justin and Rance Craig.

Jimmie was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Billie Jean Craig, mother, Betty Sue Taylor, father, Ottis Craig, brother, Ronnie Craig, sister-in-law Diane Graham, grandmother Faye Coke, grandfather Aubrey Coke, grandparents Carlie and Jeffie Craig, uncle Billy Craig , and uncle and also best friend Danny Craig.
