Obituary

John Koy Summers passed away on Monday February 14th.

John was born March 1st, 1942, in Houston Texas to the late Elbert and Mary Lou (Koy) Summers. Alongside his late wife Sherilyn (Roan) Summers, they owned the Simpsonville Country Store for 15 years. John graduated from Palestine High School and served as a proud Navy sailor from 1960 to 1964. John was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Houston Oiler fan who loved playing golf and spending time with the love of his life Sherilyn. John was a member of the Church of Power in Pritchett Texas and loved God.

John is survived by sons, Steven Summers and wife, Amanda of Omaha, NE, Jeffrey Summers of Tyler, Jon Michael Summers and wife, Kristi of Dallas; brothers, Bob Summers and his wife, Mary Ellen of Palm Springs, CA, Jess Summers and his wife, Jean of Flowood, MS; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Daniel, Matthew and his wife, Kirsten, Zachary, and Lilly; great grandchild, Ember; brother-in-law, Stephen Roan and his wife, Mary of Nacogdoches; sister-in-law Susan New and her husband, Ron of Brumley.

Memorial service to be held on April 30, 2022 at the Church of Power - 2117 Chinaberry Rd, Gilmer, TX 75645 (Pritchett, Texas). The memorial service will begin at 10:00AM with an 11:00AM reception to follow.
